In the Kuamo'o lineage, these sisters were given special gifts that perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and support the Hawaiian people. Aunty Mahealani was given the gift of being a messenger of na kupuna, the ancestors, and Kumu Neaulani was given the gift and secrets of hula. They will share their gifts with you during this seven day workshop.

Aunty Mahealani will share the ideas of ho'opono pono ke ala, the ancient Hawaiian counseling method for "making right, more right, the path," based on the philosophy and practice of Aloha Lokahi-love and unity, the all encompassing and important aspect of the Aloha Spirit value system that Hawaiians embraced prior to the arrival of Pa'ao, the warrior chief. Ho'oponopono ke ala teaches that within ourself we have the ability to create growth, enlightenment, peace and joy by reconnecting to our internal guidance system to find our spiritual self-greatness. We only need to have a willing mind and open heart to reconnect to the ancient and internal wisdoms of Aloha Lokahi, love and unity. Aloha Lokahi makes no demands and promotes freedom of choice to do, and create your own belief system based in the knowledge that you are the creator and co-creator of your own life conditions. These teachings help you to consciously, emotionally and spiritually reconnect to all elements to become a better creator and better human.

Kumu Hula Neaulani Kuamo'o-Peck carries on the legacy of hula from her mother, who was kumu hula on Big Island. In Hawai'i, the strength, beauty and creativity of the hula serves as an important and vibrant expression of cultural and family events, history and spirituality. Kumu Neaulani will be sharing with you this vibrant expression of Hawai'i and its people.

There will also be a special full moon ceremony at Ahalanui, the geothermal ponds, where the hot waters of the volcano meet the cool ocean waves.
