What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than with your mother or daughter in beautiful, balmy Hawaii. This workshop on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii will be an event to treasure the rest of your life. Located in an intimate setting on Big Island you will have the opportunity to know each other in new ways, share adventures and learn to communicate with each other with greater clarity and appreciation.

Each day will include activities designed to strengthen your communication and appreciation of each other. There will be hula lessons to the sound of the ocean, a boat trip into the beautiful, clear Pacific waters to swim with or watch the dolphin on a unique boat tour, and exquisite leimaking under the tutelage of one of Hawaii's noted leimakers.

There will be time designed just for pampering as you let go of your winter stress with traditional lomi lomi massages.

Volcano National Park will be one of our destinations as we go to visit the only active volcano in the United States and pay our respects to the home of Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess.

This is a time of weaving internal journeys with external ones. There will be opportunities to deepen your understanding of the love of each other as well as to explore new territory, creating once-in-a-lifetime memories.

You will have opportunities to learn a bit of Hawaiian culture as the group is joined by native Hawaiian teachers and practitioners to help you experience the beauty of this magnificent island.

This retreat is low impact and should be appropriate for all ages. If you have any physical disabilities, please let us know so we can accomodate them. All activities are optional and the setting itself will provide rest and pleasure to all who attend.

This workshop will be facilitated by Rebecca Avery, LCSW, psychotherapist, writer and co-founder of `Aina Me Kalani. Brought to Hawaii by her husband, Papa K Kepilino, Rebecca has been organizing workshops and retreats in Hawaiian healing and spiritual practices for the last five years. Prior to that she was a psychotherapist in private practice in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a daughter and a mother.

Assistant for the retreat will be Chrissy Avery, daughter of Rebecca, mother of Nalu. Presently living in San Francisco, she lived for several years in Hawaii working as a tour guide on Big Island.
